Le Petit Marché began life as Dawn’s Bread, a one-woman bakery which sold bread and baked goods at local farmer’s markets and fairs. Over time, as word spread, Dawn’s faithful clients found themselves setting their alarm clocks ahead to beat the rush!
Recognizing the demand and downtown Crystal Lake’s need for a gourmet food shop, Dawn opened Le Petit Marché in March of 2005, offering not only baked goods but the first and finest selection of wines in the historic downtown area. Le Petit Marché quickly became a favorite gathering place for patrons of the arts (heading to the Raue Center for a performance) and fine food alike.
Le Petit Marché has continued to evolve and thrive with the passing years, introducing catering services, open microphone performances, specialty wine tastings, and an After Five Menu that includes "Petit Plates" every night and dinners Thursday-Saturday evening.
